On 30-31 January 2023, in the city of Blagoevgrad, within the project “Come and Play 4.0”, EAC-2020-0745, co-funded by the EU, a national conference of the sports club “Comac Sport” was held. The sports club is part of the educational complex “Tsar Simeon Veliki”, which includes the Private kindergarten “Rositsa”, The private primary school “Tsar Simeon Veliki”, The private secondary school of science and entrepreneurship “Asen Yordanov” and the training center “Tsar Simeon Veliki”.

The conference was open to the public, and every resident of the region had the opportunity to participate and enrich their experience in the fields of education, new technologies, sports and health. During the two-day event, many topics related to physical health, sport as one of the main pillars of human development and the use of 3D holograms to improve the quality of physical activity in the remote areas of Bulgaria were addressed.

The conference was attended by more than 70 residents of Blagoevgrad, who had the opportunity to learn about the objectives of the project, the interesting panels in the programme and the upcoming activities until the middle of the year. Local authorities, sports clubs and organizations, NGOs, business, academia, youth clubs, non-formal education specialists – all had their representatives at the conference.

The first day began with the opening of the conference, where the organizers of the event and the guest speakers on sports-related topics introduced themselves. Then Mr. Petar Stoyanov presented the association “Sports Club Comac Sport” and told the participants about the various sports activities with young people and students who demonstrated sports achievements from a number of schools in Sofia and the district with which the sports club is involved. Mr Stoyanov emphasized the main strategic vision of the European Union for sport as a key tool to promote social and personal principles and values such as: team spirit, discipline, perseverance and fair play, as well as to increase the knowledge, motivation and skills of active citizens in the “Comac Sport Club” association.

Mrs. Konstantina Nesheva presented to the participants the importance of sport as part of the well-being of a nation – the physical and mental benefits of sport, how participation in organized sport can give young people the opportunity to learn sportsmanship, respect for rules and respect for the opponents. It focuses on how these values can help young people develop into responsible adults.

After that the event continued by an open discussion in which participants had the opportunity to share their own perspectives and give practical examples.

The next day began with a presentation of the “Come & Play 4.0” project, within which the conference itself was taking place. Mrs. Konstantina Nesheva and Mr. Petar Stoyanov introduced the main themes of the project and the main goal of the association “Sport Club Comac Sport” to the participants, which is to provide equal opportunities for all people to train and have access to sports equipment, supporting this process also through digital tools.

Mrs. Angela Mitrovska and Mrs. Yanitsa Boycheva presented the digital toolkit and the 3D holographic images produced by the project, which show a virtual coach demonstrating different exercises for different age groups. The idea of these holograms is regardless of whether the locality has a team of experts in the sport in question, young people who want to practice it will have the opportunity to practice it through 3D holograms by following the movements and performing them.

Mrs. Konstantina Nesheva presented the new sports programs for the three age groups involved in the project: young people; families with children; adults aged 60 and 60+. She also showed a number of sample programs, some of which that can be done at home.

The conference ended with a detailed calendar of innovative sports activities within the Come & Play 4.0 project, which Dr. Mladen Lambeff showed to the participants. 10 on-site demonstrations and tests of the new sports programme will be presented in the South West Region of Bulgaria in March 2023.
